Kou Yate, also known as Sailor Star Healer, is a fictional character in the franchise of Sailor Moon Cosmos. She has an androgynous appearance that makes it difficult to identify her gender. Her long, silver hair falls in soft waves all the way to her waist, framing her angular face. Yate's eyes are pale blue, giving off a distant but kind aura. She has a lean, muscular build and stands tall at 183 cm, towering over most of the other characters in the series. Kou Yate is often seen wearing a bright orange and white sailor-style outfit that is adorned with various celestial symbols.

Kou Yate is a member of the Sailor Starlights, a group of Sailor Guardians from a distant planet called Kinmoku. Yate is depicted as a stoic character who rarely shows her emotions, causing her to be seen as cold-hearted and unreadable by others. Her past is shrouded in mystery, but it is revealed throughout the series that Yate was once in love with a fellow Guardian, Sailor Star Fighter. However, due to their differing ideals and responsibilities, the two were forced to part ways. Yate's yearning for her lost love has left a lasting impact on her, resulting in the character's struggle to come to terms with her own feelings. As Sailor Star Healer, Yate possesses powers that allow her to heal and purify corrupted beings. Her signature attack is "Star Sensitive Inferno," which sends a powerful blast of energy towards her enemies. Yate is voiced by Miki Narahashi in the original Japanese version of the anime.
