Ippo Makunouchi is a fictional character from the anime "Hajime no Ippo". He stands tall at 5'5" and has a muscular build from his rigorous boxing training. Ippo has short black hair styled in a messy manner with some strands hanging over his forehead. He has a distinctive scar over his left eyebrow, which he earned in his first match in the ring that ended in his favor. He has small, dark eyes which denote his focused and determined nature. Most of the time, Ippo is seen wearing his gym clothes, which include a white tank top and blue shorts. He also wears a red boxing glove on his right hand, which he considers as his lucky charm.

Ippo was initially a shy and introverted high school student who was constantly bullied by his classmates. His life changed when he crossed paths with Mamoru Takamura, a professional boxer, who saved him from his bullies. Impressed by Takamura's fighting skills, Ippo became interested in boxing and decided to join Kamogawa gym, Takamura's training ground. There, he met coach Genji Kamogawa and Takamura's fellow boxers, who eventually became his friends and mentors. After months of rigorous training, Ippo participated in his first match and showed his natural talent in boxing. He later faced challenges and obstacles along the way as he navigated the boxing world, including fierce rivals, injuries, and personal struggles. Through his perseverance and determination, Ippo became a skilled boxer and made a name for himself in the ring.
