Aang is a fictional character from the animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender. He is a young boy with a slim build, long grayish black hair, and striking blue eyes. He wears a simple outfit consisting of an orange and yellow tunic, brown pants, and a headband with an emblem of his people on it. Aang's most distinguishing features are his arrow tattoos, which extend from his forehead down to his feet. The tattoos indicate that he is the Avatar, a master of all four elements and the only one who can bring balance to the world.

Aang grew up as an Air Nomad, a group of people who are masters of airbending. However, he discovered that he is the current incarnation of the Avatar during a time of great turmoil in the world. The Fire Nation had launched a campaign of conquest and destruction, and the other three nations were unable to resist their power. Aang was frozen in ice for a hundred years, but he was awakened by two siblings, Sokka and Katara, who became his closest friends and allies. Together, they embark on a journey to master the other three elements and defeat the Fire Nation. Aang is a compassionate and lighthearted individual, but he must also confront his responsibilities as the Avatar. He struggles with the idea of having to end a war that has claimed countless lives, including those of his own people. He also carries the burden of being the last airbender and the sole hope for the survival of his culture. Despite these challenges, Aang remains determined to fulfill his duty and restore balance to the world.
