Tanjiro Kamado is a fictional character from the anime and manga series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. The main protagonist, Tanjiro has a striking physical appearance with big, expressive, almond-shaped eyes that are a warm shade of brown. He is blessed with jet-black hair that is styled in an unkempt manner, often seen tied up in a ponytail with a black and green checkered strip of cloth. Tanjiro sports a pair of thick eyebrows that accentuate his facial features and give him a fierce and determined look. He also has a slender yet muscular build with scars on his forehead and cheeks that make him stand out.

The story of Tanjiro Kamado begins with the slaughtering of his family by demons. Tanjiro escapes, but his sister, Nezuko, is turned into a demon herself. He sets out on a perilous journey to become a demon slayer, to protect people, and to find a way to turn his sister back into a human. Tanjiro has an unyielding spirit, and his determination to save his sister and avenge his family is molded through his willingness to face adversity and challenges, including facing demons who prove to be a formidable foe. As he travels with his sister, he meets other demon slayers, and together they fight demons and embark on a quest to end the demons' evil reign.
