He enters Karasuno High School with the goal of making it to the national championships and proving that his team is the best. Alongside his best friend and top spiker, Tadashi Yamaguchi, he works tirelessly to improve his skills and become an important player for his team. As he learns to overcome his limitations and develop his own style, Tanaka becomes a force to be reckoned with on the court.
