Hisashi Mitsui is a fictional character from the manga series Slam Dunk by Inoue Takehiko. With his slender and athletic build, he stands at 183 cm (6 feet) and has a head full of spiky black hair that is shaved on the sides. His sharp and piercing eyes are a soft brown color, and he has chiseled features that set him apart from others. Though his attitude comes off as standoffish and cruel at first, he harbors a deep passion for basketball.

Originally seen as a delinquent who gave up his basketball dreams, Mitsui's story is one of redemption and regaining the love for the sport. Flashbacks reveal that he was an exceptional player during his time in junior high school, garnering attention from top high school programs. However, upon entering Shohoku High School, he turned to gang activity and smoking to cope with the pressure of living up to others' expectations. His addiction to cigarettes took a toll on him, and his skills deteriorated to the point where he retired from basketball. However, with the encouragement of a fellow teammate and the promise of a new basketball court, Mitsui makes a return to the sport that he loved. With his deadly three-point shooting, he becomes an essential component of Shohoku's team.
