Mikan Tsumiki is a fictional anime character and part of the Danganronpa series. She is known for her petite figure, purple eyes, and pinkish-brown hair that she ties in twin braids. She wears a white nurse uniform, white thigh-high stockings, and black mary jane shoes. Her prominent features include her big pupils and beauty mark on the lower left side of her face. Mikan Tsumiki is a shy, introverted character with low self-esteem, which can be seen when she tends to stutter or apologize excessively.

Mikan Tsumiki was once an innocent and cheerful girl. She enjoyed helping people and often dreamt of becoming a nurse who saved lives. However, her life took a turn when her parents died in a car accident in front of her eyes. This triggered her trauma and caused her to develop a disorder called 'Dependent Personality Disorder.' She became extremely timid, self-depreciating, and passive, unable to make decisions or do anything without seeking approval from others. She became an outcast and was often bullied by her peers. Her only solace was a group therapy session led by a kind-hearted nurse named Junko Enoshima. However, things took a dark turn when Junko Enoshima revealed her true intentions of manipulating the group and causing chaos. Mikan Tsumiki became one of Junko's followers and participated in the killing game in Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair.
